Called to be Peacemakers
On 3rd December, Bishop William Kenney talked to us about a new document on disarmament and the ethical use of weapons entitled “Called to be peacemakers”. This recent paper, in which he was involved, was released by the International Affairs department of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.
It presents the Catholic approach to arms control and disarmament.
He highlighted that in the modern world an important aspect of this mission involves working to limit the proliferation of weapons and advance the cause of global disarmament. “If all the money spent on armament was instead spent for the good of society it would change the world,” he said, also stressing the importance of prayer.
