Embroidery wonder
Here is sister Teresa’s latest hand-embroidery, which she designed and made as a gift for a soon-to-be-married couple. The bride is Scottish and the groom Norwegian. So at the top of the embroidery are two golden eagles, the national birds of Scotland, and at the bottom two dippers, the national birds of Norway. To the left of the stream is Norway, with a silver birch tree, saxifrage and heather, and to the right is Scotland, with a mountain ash or rowan, thistles and more heather.
Sister Teresa completed her latest embroidery work in the course of the last few months and it measures approximately 45cm x 85 cm.

The hand-embroidered items of Sister Teresa Keswick often feature detailed studies of natural life. She has been sewing fluently since the age of six and, in recent years, has done embroidery for both private customers and churches. See more examples of her embroidery here.
